About
Steven A. Seinberg
Steven Seinberg received his J.D. from Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, graduating in 1994. He was admitted to the California State Bar shortly thereafter. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Seinberg received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance at San Jose State University.
Soon after being admitted to the State Bar, Mr. Seinberg went in-house at BioTime, Inc., a Bay Area biotech company. He managed the company’s considerable intellectual property portfolio, and ensured compliance with various FDA and USDA regulations.
In 2001, he was promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer, and for the next nine years, Mr. Seinberg oversaw the company’s financial record-keeping and SEC reporting functions, successfully managing dozens of audits. He also worked closely with the company’s outside general counsel and its Board of Directors to implement various debt and equity financing deals, subsidiary formations, and corporate acquisitions.
After leaving BioTime in 2010 to seek fresh challenges, Mr. Seinberg relocated to Los Angeles, where he formed his own practice, specializing in contracts and small business concerns, including both formation and dissolution of various entities. His passion lies in helping entrepreneurs navigate the legalese that makes up contracts and governmental regulatory language so that they can focus their energies on pursuing their dreams.
In his spare time, Mr. Seinberg writes fiction, enjoys fitness training, practices meditation, and plays music. He once wrote and recorded his own rock album, although he does not necessarily recommend that you listen to it…
